Domestic adoption: Unfortunately there are no standard practices and the process may vary state to state or even county to county in a domestic adoption. Unfortunately, love is not enough and you may need to learn special techniques that will help them to trust you and come into your family more easily. We can prepare your home study and begin the education and preparation you need. We can also refer you to more specialized services to help you with this special child.

International adoption: International adoption offers a confusing array of choices. We have worked with clients who have adopted from countries from all around the globe and we have worked with many agencies around the country who facilitate the international adoptions. Our role is to prepare your home study, provide education and preparation and provide post-placement interviews. There are special issues to consider in adopting from abroad. You must consider the age of the child that will come to you. You must be prepared to help a child to develop attachment and bonding to you. Your child may need special services to help him/her to catch up on developmental delays. You will want to know how you can help the child and your family to have as gentle of a transition as possible.
